Spending extra time at home provides an opportunity to read the classics online via the Libby App. Recently I chose Stephen Crane’s The Red Badge of Courage, a riveting example of the conflict of man vs. man, but also man vs. himself. Crane’s descriptive writing paints a picture about a young Rebel soldier who’s searching for courage while fighting battles in the Civil War. The young private matures to a seasoned soldiers after surviving several raging battles, seeing his comrades killed, and winning victories.
