Are you looking to start a writing career? Or do you have some writing experience but want to learn more? If so, we have a great program coming up for you.
On February 20 at 6:30 p.m., Brian Johnston, Head of Public Services, will run a free Nonfiction Writing Workshop. In addition to working at the library, Brian has self-published a book and is also a contributor to publications and websites such as the Herald Palladium, Wrigleyville Nation, Windy City Reviews, and Public Libraries Online. He also writes many of the blog posts you see on this website!
Brian will begin the workshop by discussing how to begin a nonfiction writing project. He will then go over some ways you can improve your writing and will also describe some fallacies that many nonfiction writers commit and how to avoid them. Brian believes that in order to become a good writer, you need to make every word and every sentence as strong as it can be, and he enjoys helping other writers pursue their goals.
If you would like to register for this program, be sure to stop in, call us, or visit our website. It will be beneficial to anyone interested in writing.
