LTPL During COVID-19

Lincoln Township Library greatly appreciates your patience and understanding during this time. Below are details of the library’s re-opening.

COVID-19 Policies

The following policies have been adopted by the LTPL Board in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan

LTPL Reopening Policy and Plan

Book Drop

Our exterior book drop is open from 10am Monday through 5pm Saturday.

Be sure to return your materials through the drive-through book drop prior to entering the building.

Please DO NOT make donations via the book drop. Please see below for information about how to make donations to the library.

Material Quarantine

All returned materials are held for four* (4) days prior to being checked in and sorted for holds and re-shelving. Our Quiet Reading Rooms are designated as a staff-only space for the purpose of processing returned material.

*effective 7/22/2020

No-Contact Curbside Service

LTPL offers a no-contact curbside service for patrons. This service is available for a limited number of hours throughout the week* (*subject to change). Pick up times limited to:

Mondays 5pm-8pm
Wednesdays 12pm-4pm
Saturdays 11am-1pm

  • Patrons place holds by calling the library or emailing curbside @ lincolnlib.org.
  • Limit of 5 items per cardholder per day, one pickup per day.
  • Patron notification by phone when holds are ready. An appointment for pickup will be set at this time.
  • Pick-Up. Patrons will be asked to park in a designated location and remain in their vehicle when a staff member approaches to verify last name and last 4 digits of card number. Bagged holds will be placed on the bench (preferred), or in vehicle trunk/backseat. Patrons may retrieve items from bench when staff are safely back inside the building.

Please make all returns through the exterior book drop. Material returns cannot be accepted at the Curbside Service point.

Building Open with Precautionary Measures

Our building reopened on Monday, June 8th at full operational hours with the following new measures in place:

One way Entry & Exit:  The library’s original entry located outside the Lawrence Room is the new entrance into the building. Patrons exit through the current main entrance. Signage, directional arrows, and a staff greeter are available to help guide you.

Occupancy: The library’s capacity is currently limited to 25% of normal occupancy. Should that capacity limit be reached, patrons will be able to enter as others exit.

Protective Barriers: Plexiglass separators are installed at both service desks and the greeter station to protect both patrons and staff at interaction points.

Check Out: Patrons are asked to maintain social distancing practices when browsing for materials and waiting in line for check out at the service desk. Please make all returns through the exterior book drop. Material returns cannot be accepted at the Circulation Desk. EXCEPTIONS: A designated return point is available at the service desk to return Explore Kits and Playaway Launchpads.

Computer Access & Copier: The copier and limited computer stations, spaced for social distancing between patrons, will be available by sign-up or appointment to allow for cleaning processes to occur between use. Laptops are being prepared for circulation to increase computer access (launch date TBD). Computer assistance and tech help are extremely limited until we are able to implement a solution that maintains social distance when providing these services.

Programming: All program offerings will remain virtual for the time being. Outdoor programs are being explored.

Meeting Rooms: As all of our meeting room spaces are otherwise designated (for storage, quarantine, and curbside service), meeting room reservations are unavailable for the time being. Applications for use will not be accepted until a date is determined for room availability.

Donations: The Library will begin accepting material donations on DESIGNATED DAYS beginning October 2020. Donations are to be delivered at the curbside service point on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays and Fridays* between 1pm-3pm. Please see our quarterly newsletter for specific dates. Donations can be boxed or bagged. Friendly Reminder: while all kinds of materials are accepted for donation, we cannot accept magazines, Reader’s Digest condensed books, textbooks, encyclopedias over 3 years old, and any items with mold, mildew, or water damage. Thank you for your courtesy!

*dates and times are subject to change.

MeL and Interlibrary Loan: Services to resume August 10th!

Patron Requirements

Face Coverings Required: Per state executive orders 2020-153, face coverings are required to enter the library. Patrons unable to wear a mask due to medical condition can call or email the library to request materials and make an appointment for curbside service.

Wellness Check: For the safety of other patrons and library staff, please refrain from visiting the library if you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. Feel free to use this free symptom screening resource made available by Spectrum Health Lakeland.

Social Distancing: Patrons are asked to practice social distancing (from those not in their household) by remaining six feet away from others.

Clean Hands: Patrons are encouraged to practice good hygiene by sanitizing or washing their hands with soap and water after handling library materials.
