LTPL is excited to introduce Meescan, our new self-checkout solution that makes borrowing books and materials easier than ever. Not only do we have two self-checkout machines in the library you are also able to download the Meescan app and checkout books from your smartphone!
To check out items, simply scan your card, then place the items on the desensitizing pad next to the tablet. Items can be checked out in small batches of 3-5 by stacking them on the pad. Once all items have been read, press ‘Finish’ and you will get a digital due date slip sent to the email attached to your account.
If you use your smartphone to check items out you will need to stop at one of our self-check out machines to desensitize the books (this way they don’t beep when you exit the library.) This can be done by setting the books on the pad next to the machine. Once that is done you are all set to leave with your items!
