Get involved with the Library by joining our Teen Volunteers (VolunTeens). All students ages 14-17 are welcome. Share ideas for teen programs, discuss teen books, organize community service projects, work on the ‘Between the Shelves’ Newsletter, and earn service credit. If you are passionate about teen services, the library would love to have you join the VolunTeens!

Mission

Get involved with the Library by joining our VolunTeens. The Lincoln Township Public Library teen volunteers will strive to assist with the improvement of library services for teens by:

  • Planning, implementing, and participating in teen programs
  • Creating an inviting atmosphere at the library by maintaining a safe, attractive teen area
  • Promoting ideas regarding the young adult collection
  • Promoting and encouraging reading by teens
  • Providing a forum for which teens can share ideas and improve relations between teen patrons and the library

Who is in VolunTeens?

Students ages 14-17 with a proper Work Permit are welcome to join. You do not need to live or go to school in Lincoln, Baroda, or Royalton Township’s to join. Once we receive a Work Permit and Parental Permission students are officially welcome to join the VolunTeens.

Between the Shelves

Between the Shelves is our new bi-monthly newsletter for teens. It features upcoming programs aimed at teens, passive activities, a regular VolunTeen Spotlight, and media reviews written by teens. You do not need to be a member of the VolunTeens to help with, or be featured in the Newsletter.

  • Teens can submit their reviews here and get a chance to be featured in Between the Shelves.
  • Teens can also send feedback on teen programming and services here.

When Are the Meetings?

Monthly meetings are held on third Friday of the month from September-May.

Why Should You Join?

  • Members earn volunteer hours for attending meetings
  • Work on the Teen Newsletter ‘Between the Shelves’
  • Brainstorm ideas to impact the Teen Services Department of the Library
  • Spend time with other teens planning enjoyable events
  • Make a difference in your community

How Do I Join?

Come to a meeting! New members can stop in at any meeting to join.

Fill out the proper paperwork including a work permit, and an LTPL Teen Volunteer Waiver. Once these have been returned you will officially be a member!
