Ongoing Programs for Teens

The Lincoln Township Public Library offers so many ways to get involved.

Looking for more friends? Working on a school research project? Getting bored over the summer or suffering cabin fever in the winter? Check our online calendar frequently to see what’s happening this month, and like us on Facebook at Lincoln Township Public Library to get event reminders. Consider membership in one of our ongoing programs so you don’t let lazy summer days or the winter doldrums slip by without doing something fun.

Teen Advisory Board

TAB150 The Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.) is a group of teens in grades 6-12 who meet once a month (September through June) to discuss teen issues, review books, plan teen events, volunteer at the library, and enjoy getting involved with other fun-loving teens. Membership is required, which you can do quickly online or by visiting us at the library. Your membership entitles you to member exclusive events at the library, which includes the lock-in and graduation party held annually, and activities such as acting in Teen Mysteries. The Friends of the Library even ensure we have food at every meeting. More information and online registration.

Junior Friends

Explore the rewards of volunteerism by becoming a “Junior Friend” and helping with the summer reading programs for children, ‘tweens, and teens. Volunteering as a Junior Friend is both satisfying and also a great way to fulfill your school’s community service requirement or to begin building a resume for use in the future. Applications are available to print here and are available to pick up at the Youth Desk from May 2 – 31, 2022. All applications MUST be returned to the library by May 31, 2022.

Teen Summer Reading Program

This program is offered over the summer and focuses on a single theme that all ages can explore. Special book choices for teens will keep you intrigued, and you will enjoy the related discussion groups, gaming events, and themed events just for teens.

Pizza and Pages Teen Book Discussion Group

This book group is for teens in grades 7-12. The group meets every other month at 3:30 p.m. Copies of the books are available during registration thanks to a generous donation by the Friends of the Library. Please see our online calendar for selected book titles and dates.

Adulting 101

Teens and young adults ages 12-20 may register for these informative events offered during even months. Topics include: Basic Cooking Skills, College Prep and College Life, Financial Aid, Job Applications and Resumes, Basic Home Care, Budgeting, and more. Please see our online calendar for dates and times. Registration is required.

Special Events for Teens

The Lincoln Township Public Library also offers several special events for teens each year. We have video game competitions, an annual Halloween event, food programs such as Teen Iron Chef and Frost It, and more. Please see our quarterly newsletter and our online calendar for more information.
